Euros can be changed in a few places only. Better have US Dollars in small (be careful USD100 and USD50 bills are not accepted everywhere. Euros can be changed only in a few banks of the capital city) and an international credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express). Banks open from 8h00am to 3h00pm.
PASSPORT-VISA:
French citizens will need a passport valid for at least 6 months after their arrival (make photocopies). Be careful if you transit by the USA you would better have secured passports for you and each one of your children.
