HISTORY

Venezuela was discovered by Cristobal Colon the October 12th of 1489. Venezuelan people was composed of indian-american. Amerigo Vespucci called it because the Indian houses in the Maracaibo region looked like Venice: he called it "Little Venice". Then begun a long agony for Indian-american people.
The Spanish colonization last to the April 19 of 1810. Simon Bolivar, el liberator who leaded 6500 men beat the Spanish army at the Carabobo Battle, the June 24th of 1821, when the Independance war ended.
Since the fall of general Perez Gimenez's dictatorship in 1958, Venezuela has had a strong democratic regime, the oldest of all Latin American countries.
